New Shoes!

Ben's personality continues to shine through in new ways everyday! Some aspects of his personality are a little quirkier than than others. For example, Ben got a new pair of shoes last week. When he got up the next morning he insisted on wearing them....and only them. We managed to get a diaper on and the only pair of socks left in his drawer, and then let him be.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

We took Ben to see the Easter Bunny Sunday morning, with Grandma and Grandpa Shallman and Ava. Ava was a pro, and pretty excited about see the Easter Bunny. Ben was a little more cautious.

Officially a Toddler!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm a big boy now! As of this week, I'm officially in the Toddler room! That means I get to play with big kids, eat at a table while sitting on a chair, take naps on a cot, and play outside. I love it!

And since I do such a good job of sitting at a table to eat, I told my Mommy and Daddy that I want to do that at home now too...no more highchairs for me!

Lions, and Tigers, and Bears.....

Oh My! Ben took his first trip to the Zoo (Como) this weekend. He went with his buddy Sophie and her cousin Lane, who was visiting for the weekend. Those three sure had fun looking at the animals-and it went surprisingly well (with three 1 year olds, you just never know!).

The first animals we saw were the Monkeys.
(There is one, if you look close in the bottom left corner of the picture)


Ben thought it was fun to make faces at the Monkeys.


This guy didn't seem very excited to be there.


Next we went to see the Zebra's and Giraffe's.

We got the giraffe to smile, but Ben wouldn't cooperate!


The third animals we checked out were the "cats" - which were by far the favorite!

Ben was fascinated with the "kitty".

We couldn't get Lane to turn around long enough for a
group shot-no way he was missing the animals!


The last animals we saw were the aquatics and Polar Bears.


She wasted no time posing for a picture.


Brrrr...that's not where we'd want to nap!

We all can't wait to come back for a visit in the Summer.
